We are a passionate, relevant, city-church, making a significant contribution to the spiritual, social and emotional well-being of Porirua City. We are committed to serving the city through vibrant services and understandable Bible-based teaching, and by our community-events. Elim Christian Centre started in Porirua in 1993. We've grown from 40 to over 250. We started off meeting at Whitireia Polytech. We now meet at the Porirua Elim Christian Centre, 11 Heriot Drive. This large, rennovated warehouse complex has an auditorium designed to seat 750. This allows us to host community events, such as graduations, weddings, funerals and conferences.

OUR PURPOSE
Our purpose statement is: To bring people to Jesus and membership in His family, develop them to Christlike maturity, and equip them for their ministry in the church and their life mission in the world, in order to magnify God's name.

OUR VISION
We see a church that loves God passionately, and loves people tirelessly. A church that is continually expanding, made up of ordinary people who have become extra ordinary because of what God has done in their lives. We see a church led by people who are full of faith, courage, and commitment to humility, service and generosity. A church that is changing the world. A church where the power of God is demonstrated by the way we are changing - becoming more like Jesus. A church that is compassionately ministering to the needs of a hurting world, because we have a living, personal relationship with the Creator of that world.
